ABOUT CAREY MCNAMARA
“Carey felt it was imperative to find a way to provide cutting-edge proactive medical care to others, testing and treatments that actually improve and extend people’s lives instead of just treating the symptoms in the later stages of disease. ”
Carey McNamara graduated from Furman University in 1997 and then went on to train at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where she received her degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2000. Carey has remained board certified by the NCCPA ever since.
After graduating from MUSC, Carey practiced family medicine for 19 years at one practice. When she was introduced to advanced biomarker testing a few years into her career, she realized these tests could help uncover hidden risk factors in her patients, helping her better target therapies to prevent (and even reverse) cardiovascular disease. Since heart disease kills more men and women worldwide than any other illness (including cancer), Carey saw the value in implementing these tools with her patients. However, since these cutting-edge tests were not widely used among other medical providers, Carey actively sought out opportunities to learn more. She traveled to different states to precept under leading experts already adept at using these tools, and studied under nationally known physicians for cardiovascular risk reduction. Carey also took courses that would expand her knowledge in this field. For example, she completed the master’s level lipidology course offered by the National Lipid Association and the BaleDoneen preceptorship course, an advanced model of cardiovascular prevention and treatment that is focused on optimizing arterial health. Carey is now a member of the Bale Doneen Academy, an organization of medical providers aligned with the same mission and committed to the pursuit of continual learning.
Word spread about Carey’s medical expertise, and two different advanced cardiovascular lab companies hired her as a speaker, sending her to medical offices and conferences to help educate other doctors and midlevel providers on how to best implement advanced biomarker testing with their patients.
In an effort to reach more people, Carey opened Whole Heart Family Medicine in December of 2019, with the goal of offering advanced, integrative, and compassionate medical care to the community. Patients were so happy with the high quality of care they received that they referred their family and friends and the practice filled up quickly.
The initial goal of Whole Heart Family Medicine was to provide advanced testing and preventative care through an insurance model so it would be easily accessible to all. Unfortunately, it became clear the medical providers had to see a high volume of patients, and they were on a rapid road to burnout. It was simply impossible to offer progressive and personalized care with short appointment times and limited insurance reimbursement. The irony is, insurance companies will pay thousands of dollars for a patient’s cardiac bypass surgery or hospitalization for a stroke, but not for the care needed to prevent them!
Carey felt it was imperative to find a way to provide this cutting-edge proactive medical care to others, testing and treatments that actually improve and extend people’s lives instead of just treating the symptoms in the later stages of disease.
This led to the creation of Kadima Center for Heart Attack & Stroke Prevention. At Kadima Center, we have the knowledge and expertise to help patients successfully navigate their journey to optimal health. The best medical care will always include more comprehensive workups and longer appointment times (that provide in-depth education and personalized medical guidance) . . . so we prioritize these very things. And we are so certain we can help patients that we offer a money-back-guarantee to any patient who has a heart attack or stroke while under our care and following our treatment protocols. * At Kadima Center, we believe no one's life should be cut short by a disease we can prevent.
AND THE EXCITING TRUTH IS . . . following the treatment protocols at Kadima Center helps patients do more than just decrease their chances of a heart attack or stroke, they decrease the risk of developing diabetes, vascular dementia, chronic kidney disease and more!
WHY KADIMA?
